Annual Report 2024

In 2024, Tactical Tech responded to a rapidly evolving digital landscape and its accelerating socio-political and environmental impacts, driven largely by the widespread adoption of AI technologies. With a forward-looking, creative, and collaborative approach, we empowered civil society, communities, and organizations to better understand and address the growing influence of digital technologies on democracy, society, and everyday life. As AI, data-driven influence, and information pollution reshaped public discourse and power dynamics, we worked at the frontlines to promote information integrity, build critical capacities, and drive systemic change.

Through research, public engagement, and capacity building, we supported civil society organizations, journalists, educators, universities, schools, and community spaces across the globe with practical tools to navigate complexity and strengthen digital resilience. Our work focused on six core areas: strengthening media and investigative ecosystems; examining digital political influence; advancing youth digital literacy; addressing information pollution and climate; demystifying AI; and combating information disorder.

Across these themes, we continued to bridge technology and accountability, reaffirming that informed, empowered communities are essential to challenge the digital status quo and advocate for a more human and fair digital landscape.
